How our Trail Began

We believe God is with us on every trail we take....guiding, strengthening, and reminding us that no step is ever walked alone.

Born and raised in California, our friendship began while raising our children side-by-side in a quaint Gold Country town. Though life led us to opposite coasts for more than a decade.....Michele raising her four children in the East, Karen raising her three boys in the West....God was still faithfully writing our story.

Nearly twelve years later, He reunited us in North Carolina, less than an hour apart. Just months after Karen’s family arrived, Hurricane Helene struck. Michele’s husband, Mike, and his pack mule string provided life-saving support to families in unreachable areas, and together we stepped in to serve. What began as neighbors helping neighbors became Mission Mules, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing hope in times of disaster.

Now as Grammie and Mimi, we cherish time with our grandchildren while continuing to share God’s love and light through Mission Mules, and through the stories He has placed on our hearts to write.

Our prayer is that our journey reminds you that God always has a plan...and He places the right people on your trail at exactly the right time.
